The nordic center
Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is proud to introduce a partnership with Fever River Outfitters. Fever River will be operating our Nordic Center and has a complete stock of the latest ice skates, sleds, cross-country skis, boots and poles and snow shoes. The Nordic Center also has a full line of winter apparel for sale.

Eagle Ridge is only 15 minutes away from one of Illinois’ top downhill ski and snowboarding areas, Chestnut Mountain!
Broomball: Meet up with other resort guests to play a friendly game of broomball. We'll even provide the equipment! Broomball tips off at 1:30 pm every Saturday.
Cross Country Skiing: Take in the winter scenery on over seven miles of cross country ski trails that wind through some of the Territory's most picturesque terrain. Fever River has a full line of the latest cross country ski, poles and boots. Don’t be surprised to see countless wild life during your journey including deer, wild turkey and bald eagles.
- Learn the basics of cross country skiing with our very own ski instructor every Saturday at 11 am and Sunday at 10 am for only $30. Reservations are required.
Sledding: Hold on tight as you zip down our sledding hill on the 18th hole of the South Course! With an 80 foot elevation drop, this hill is sure to be fun for the whole family! Bring your own sled or rent one from our Nordic Center.
Ice Skating: Lace up your skates and head out to our skating pond for a fun-filled day on the ice! Each night our team grooms the ice and adds another layer of water to give it a smooth as glass finish. With over an acre of ice to skate on, you’re sure to have hours of fun.
Snowshoe Hikes: If cross country skiing isn't your thing but hiking is, come out and enjoy snow shoeing. Fever River offer the latest in snow shoe equipment. Guided snow shoe hiking tours head out every Friday at 4:30 pm. Bring your own shoes or rent them from our Nordic Center.
- Hikes are $20 per person and reservations are required.

Make a splash any of time year in the heated indoor pool, which is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm.
Galena On The Fly lifts guests up-up-and-away over the rolling hills of The Galena Territory and historic downtown Galena. Depart at sunrise and sunset directly from Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa with an experienced pilot who will take guests on a panoramic tri-state tour from an eagle’s point of view. Hiking, Biking & Bird Watching
Surrounded by over 20 miles of wilderness and paved hiking and biking trails, Eagle Ridge is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Eagle Ridge is home to bald eagles, white pelicans, white trumpeter swans and over 200 other types of birds; it's one of the best bird watching spots in North America. Guests can take advantage of the many bike trails aboard their own wheels or those available, free of charge, at the resort.
Horseback Rides at Shenandoah Riding Center
Enjoy all four seasons of The Galena Territory with trail rides and lessons at the nearby Shenandoah Riding Center. With 40-miles of groomed riding trails, Shenandoah offers something for riders of all experience levels, from beginner to advanced.
Boating & Fishing
Located on the banks of Lake Galena, boating is a cherished activity at Eagle Ridge. Take a leisurely cruise on one of the resort’s pontoon boats, paddleboats, kayaks or canoes, and be sure to bring along a fishing pole!
