A Letter from our General Manager

Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa Opening June 4, 2020

This has been the most challenging times that we have all been through during the last several months.  COVID-19 has affected all our lives and like many businesses we needed to close our resort in order to help protect our communities and adhere to State and Federal recommendations.
As we prepare to re-open the resort with limited services and operations, we will continue to monitor and adhere to the latest recommendations from the CDC and government authorities.

During the time our resort has been closed, our operational staff working from home have collaborated with each other and will all departments and have re-designed out operating procedures in accordance with CDC recommendations. New policies have been put in place as they relate to cleanliness, food safety, best practices for personal hygiene and much more.

Our new manual was born with the number one purpose of protecting our guests, employees and to do our part to limit any potential spread of Covid-19. Some of these measures include but certainly not limited to the following:
  • Continued staff training on new policies., procedures and best practices
  • As part of the uniform all staff members will wear facemasks
  • As part of our uniform all food handlers will wear facemask and protective gloves. 
  • All public areas will be continually disinfected
  • All guest rooms will be disinfected using the best equipment including Ultra Violet lights
  • All homes will be disinfected using foggers
  • All office space will be thoroughly and continually disinfected and sanitized
  • You will see an increase in hand sanitizers throughout the public areas of the resort
  • Staff who display any health symptoms, similar to those of COVID-19, will be immediately sent home for rest and recovery.
  • We will be practicing social distancing in all areas of the resort including check-in
We will be following the strict guidelines that our government has planned for the re-opening of our state. As we enter the month of June we will be in Phase 3 of re-opening. To review all phases on re-opening Illinois please click the link at the end of this letter.

Our Phase 3 of reopening the resort includes the following:
  • The North and South golf courses are open. We are following the current guidelines for golf courses. Please check our website for more information on Golf Guidelines.
  • The General Store will be open 7 days a week beginning June 4th.
  • For our guest staying in our rental homes you can order groceries on line and choose pick up or delivery.
  • All transportation vehicles will be limited to social distancing and will be completely sanitized after each trip
  • We will have available a limited menu for curbside pickup daily from 4pm-8pm
  • The pool is open and limited to 10 guests practicing social distancing
  • Our workout room is open and limited to 4 guests practicing social distancing
  • Pontoon boats will be available for resort guests only
  • All hiking trails are open
  • Tennis courts are open and available for resort guests only

Questions and Answers regarding Covid-19 and the Resort

What precautions are being taken to protect your guests?

In addition to the above we will also be doing the following:
  • Installation of glass partitions at check-in
  • Stayover housekeeping services during your stay have been greatly reduced to minimize contact between employees & guests. Fresh amenities will be available by request and placed outside your door. 
  • We will be following the strict guidelines that our government has planned for the re-opening of our state. As we enter the month of June we will be in Phase 3 of re-opening. To review all phases on re-opening Illinois please click the link  for re-opening Illinois guidelines.
What is the resort asking of guests?
  • Plan ahead with your reservations. Book in advance as opposed to “walking-in” for your stay.
  • If you are not feeling well, please avoid traveling to the resort.
  • Practice social distancing measures and give fellow guests the proper spacing.
  • We ask that only 1 person per group enters the lobby for check-in.
  • We promote the use of face coverings when in public areas.
  • Follow the CDC guidelines by frequently washing your hands.  
Where can I get more information about the Covid-19 Virus and guidelines?
We recommend reviewing and following updates and guidelines from the CDC.
 
Do I need to wear a mask when I am at the resort?
CDC guidelines and during Phase 3 of Illinois re-opening all guests and resort employees must wear masks in public places.

Will my temperature be taken during check-in?
At this point we are not taking temperatures of our guests. We ask that if you are not feeling well or are showing any signs of illness that could be Covid-19 related we would ask you to cancel your reservation and come back another time to continue to protect yourself as well as other guests and employees.

How are the guest rooms being and sanitized?
Our housekeeping staff wears personal protective equipment while on duty. We have a new training manual that during our closure all housekeepers have been trained on. We are using the latest in technology including ultra-violet lights in all guest rooms and foggers in all villas, condos and homes

What restaurants/food and beverage options are currently offered at the resort?
During June we will be in Phase 3 of reopening Illinois. During this Phase all restaurant and bars/lounges are to remain closed. We will be providing curb side pick-up with a limited menu you can order from. Our General Store will be open 7 days a week and has everything you need from Starbucks coffee to breakfast breads and much more. For guest staying in one of our rental homes you will have the ability to order groceries on line and have them delivered to your door or guests can pick up their order at the General Store.

Are boats rentals available?
Our pontoon boats are available for rent. We also have canoes and paddle boats that are complimentary. Stringent sanitization procedures are implemented before and after each rental. To reserve a pontoon boat, paddle boat and canoes contact our front desk at 815-777-5000.

Are Your Golf Courses Open?
Our North and South golf courses are open weather permitting. We are following Phase 3 of the guidelines for golf. You can read more about the restrictions by clicking on this link.

Are the pools, spa and fitness center available?
During this time, these areas are not operational, however, as governmental guidelines relax, we look forward to opening these areas of our guests to enjoy.

Is resort transportation service available?
Our resort shuttle is available and is complimentary in and around the Galena Territory. We will also have shuttle service to downtown Galena. All passengers must wear a facemask, shuttle service to downtown Galena is by appointment, and all vehicles will be completely sanitized after each transport.

Is the General Store open?
Our General Store will be open 7 days a week from 7am to 9pm. All visitors must where facemasks while in the General Store. If you are staying in one of our Eagle Ridge Homes during your stay you can order groceries on line and have them delivered to your home or condo, or you can come to the General Store and we will have them ready for you.

Will Peddlers be Open?

Can I tour the facility to plan a future wedding or banquet?
We would absolutely love to show you around our four wedding venues including the Eagle Ballroom with floor to ceiling windows looking over Lake Galena, The Galena Ballroom with floor to ceiling window looking out to lake Galena, our Point Patio with an expanded deck and our brand new Highlands Restaurant and Lounge 289 with a deck that overlooks the Galena Territory and the 10th and 18th fairways of The General Golf course.
