CELEBRATING LOCAL FARMS AND PURVEYORS
Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa introduces Taste the Good Life at Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa, new monthly culinary events showcasing not only the resort’s award-winning culinary talent, but celebrating and honoring Galena’s local farms and purveyors.
Monthly sessions will be focused around a quarterly theme, starting with Pastabilities at Woodlands Restaurant and Lounge (Woodlands). The event will be a pasta-inspired multi-course dinner featuring Eagle Ridge’s Sous Chef Sam Riniker. Chef Riniker will give a pasta demonstration and share pasta making tips, pasta pairing ideas and more. The evening includes the Pastabilities dinner where guests can choose ingredients for the chef to make. Eagle Ridge will also be announcing a sauce competition giving participants two weeks to submit their recipe.
On Thursday, June 14, the Pastabilities dinner will be vegetarian and Eagle Ridge’s culinary team is featuring an all-locally grown and sourced vegetarian lasagna. Winners of the Pastabilities Contest will also be announced.
Time Out starts in July and focuses on fun foods intended to be eaten outdoors and with family and friends, including ribs, pork and salads on Thursday, July 12, bison on Thursday, Aug. 9 and chicken on Thursday, Sept. 13, all in Woodstone Restaurant. A representative from Iowa Bison Company will be the speaker for the Aug. 9 Time Out Bison Dinner. Iowa Bison Company is located in Dubuque, Iowa and they co-op with bison farmers within a 100 mile radius of Dubuque. The bison are locally grown, no antibiotics/steroids, and are free-range grass fed.
