Hottest Fall Wedding Trends

Softening Fall Colors
No classic dark plums, deep blues or warm oranges this year! 2018 is all about neutral accents and frosted pastels. As many couples still want soft pastel accents, without the spring wedding vibes in October, they are updating traditional ‘spring’ hues by having a veil of frost over them. In addition to frosted-pastels, we’re also seeing ivory replace traditional crisp white accents, and dark florals adding a dramatic pop in tablescapes.
The Sky Is The Limit
The higher the better when it comes to décor this fall. We’ve seen couples taking their table arrangements to new heights for their receptions - from extra tall candle sticks, to leafy branches, and potted trees - building your reception “up” is all the rage. For couples keeping their décor at traditional heights, whimsical calligraphy cards, menus and chalk boards are the perfect way to mesh a breezy, rustic centerpiece together, along with candlelight.
Sweet and Simple
Elaborate cakes have stolen the spotlight all year, however fall is all about being humble (but delicious) when it comes to cake designs. This fall, we’re seeing lots of couples forgoing traditional cake toppers - and many going topper-less - and trading them out for simple flowers, greenery or fruit. We’ve also seen textured-cake looks, with couples saying ‘bye’ to fondant and thick frostings and instead, displaying nearly-naked cakes with simple drips elegantly falling down the sides.
While we love baby’s breath - and see a lot of it - couples are keeping these cute buds out of their fall arrangements and looking to whimsical vines of ivory for bouquets and table displays. Some extra non-traditional florals are also making their way into arrangements, like colored dahlias, pepper berries and bay leaf branches. Regardless of your flower preference, simple sprigs, unique accents and whimsical greens are leading the way this fall.
Are you planning to incorporate one of the above trends into your fall wedding, or are you doing something completely different? We’d love to learn about your authentic style!
