For Sam, Eagle Ridge had long been part of her story. She grew up visiting Galena with her grandparents and spent countless weekends at the resort making memories with family. When the couple began searching for wedding venues, they initially focused on Chicago. But something felt missing. “We wanted a destination feel without being too far from home,” Sam shared. “Somewhere our guests could stay together and make a weekend of it.” That idea led them to Eagle Ridge—and it was Garett’s first visit to Galena.
“We both completely fell in love with the venue,” Sam said. “Starting this new chapter of our lives in a place that meant so much to my family made it even more meaningful.”

“The Point Patio felt like something out of a dream,” Sam said.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the Eagle Ballroom for the reception. The room’s warm wooden rafters and romantic string lighting created the perfect atmosphere for celebrating with family and friends.

Meaningful Moments & Personal Touches
While the entire weekend was special, Sam and Garett say the ceremony was the most meaningful moment.
Surrounded by loved ones and the stunning views of Lake Galena, they exchanged vows in a place that already held deep personal meaning.
One of the most memorable moments came when their dog, Dublin, walked down the aisle as the flower girl.
“It was such a fun and personal touch,” Sam said.
The celebration continued with an incredible reception filled with amazing food, great music, and a packed dance floor.
